Kevin M. Hanford

Managing Partner & Founder

Kevin M. Hanford is the Managing Partner and Founder of Hanford Investments, a multifamily investment firm focused on the acquisition and operation of value-add apartment communities. He leads underwriting, capitalization, and asset management and is recognized for disciplined execution, transparent investor communication, and a stewardship mindset centered on capital preservation and risk management.

Over the past 22 years, he has participated in eight acquisitions totaling 1,669 units and approximately $248 million in aggregate transaction value and has raised more than $76 million in private equity commitments. Before founding Hanford Investments, Kevin was a multifamily broker, closing more than $250 million in apartment transactions and developing deep expertise in underwriting and transaction execution.

Prior to his real estate career, Kevin served 20 years in the United States Air Force as a pilot and officer, retiring at the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Engineering from Arizona State University and an MBA from Chaminade University.

Matthew Neyland

Partner

Matthew Neyland is a Principal of Hanford Investments LLC, bringing extensive experience across residential real estate and private business investments in the energy, healthcare, and entertainment sectors.

At Hanford, he has partnered in the acquisition of four apartment communities totaling 600 units, representing more than $121 million in value and over $54 million in equity capital raised. From 2003 to 2010, Matthew served as an officer in the United States Marine Corps, leading Marines in combat support operations in Iraq and Afghanistan and developing a foundation of leadership and operational discipline.

His professional background also includes founding multiple businesses and serving as Director of Business Development for a national commercial construction firm. Matthew holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance and a Bachelor of Arts in History from Southern Methodist University, as well as a Juris Doctor from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law.
